Martha Jean Powers

Martha Jean Powers arrived into the loving family of Harry and Ila Powers in Sonoraville, Georgia, September 4, 1938, bringing with her the love of people and animals, a great sense of humor, and sense of creativity, gifts which she lovingly shared until her passing on January 11, 2014.
Martha spent some of her happiest years as an artist in the mountains she loved near Gatlinburg where she also hiked and golfed.
She will be missed greatly by her friends and family; brothers, Robert Powers and Dave (Tammie Barnett) Powers; sisters Dorothy Maddox and Carolyn (Chris Appleton) Mouzon; nephews Harry (Faye) Maddox, Robert Powers II and Ron (Susan) Mouzon; niece Beth Maddox ; great nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Harry Powers, Jr. and Hubert (Ludie) Powers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harris Arts Center (706-629-2599).
Services will be at Meadowdale Baptist Church, Hwy 53, 1:00pm, Tuesday, January 14th.
