Marvin "Cod" Thompson

Mr. Marvin “Cod” Lewis Thompson, age 73, of Chatsworth, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at his residence.

Cod was of the Baptist faith. He especially loved UGA football.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Creed Thompson; mother, Betty Thompson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kelly K. Thompson of Chatsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly L. Ingram and Johnny Ingram of Dalton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, James “Jimmy” Thompson and Shirley Thompson of Chatsworth, Clifford “Coot” Thompson and Connie Thompson of Chatsworth, and Ralph Thompson of Chatsworth; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Billy Hamilton of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Lane Holsomback (Grace), Ella Keith, Annsley Ingram, Griffin Ingram, and Bailynn Ingram; great-granddaughter, Harlynn Holsomback; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mark and Janet Callahan; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kristy and Shannon Ramsey of Dalton, GA and Brian Stirling of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews, fur babies, and work families also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Marvin “Cod” Lewis Thompson will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Guffey and Mr. Rafeek Mughrabi officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope-Kilgore cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
