Mr. Marvin Chuck" Cook, age 52, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2006. Mr. Cook was born in Gordon County on September 9, 1953.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Glenn Cook, and by a grandson, Christopher Deric Cook. He attended East Calhoun Church of God and was retired as a repairman with Cook's Repair Shop.
Survivors include his mother, Elsie Reeves Cook; a son, Chris Cook; a sister, Shelbia Touchstone; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Mike Connally; and two grandchildren, Gabriel Cook and Abigail Redwine, all of Calhoun. Nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Marvin "Chuck" Cook will be conducted at 11:00am on Thursday, August 31, at the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Rice officiating. Interment will follow at the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Sandy Hunter, Shane Serritt, Lamar Wilson, Paul Freeman, David Garland, Mike Freeman, Phillip Freeman, and Stanley Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will include Kip Connally and Clifton Smith. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30am on Thursday. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
