Mrs. Mary Ann Harris, age 70 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, January 26 at her residence. She was born in Gordon County on July 12, 1938, daughter of the late Jim and Anna Mae Ralston Bell. Mrs. Harris had been employed with Georgia Textiles for many years, and also the Calhoun Times, and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reecie Harris; two sons, David Lynn Harris and Michael Harris; and a brother, J.L. Bell, Sr.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law; Rickey and Wanda Harris, and Tim and Denise Harris; a daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Steve Ogletree; a brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Bennie Lee Bell; and a sister-in-law, Clara Bell, all of Calhoun. Four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Harris will be conducted Wednesday, January 28 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Lamar Bearden officiating. Interment will follow in the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1050 Roland Hayes Parkway, Calhoun, GA 30701.
