Mary Catherine Joyce

Mrs. Mary Catherine (Tommie) Joyce, age 82 of Sugar Valley, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 at Gordon Hospital. She was born on September 9, 1926 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Leonard and Ola Faulkenberry. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Grady Joyce, a sister, Maudell Faulkenberry, and a brother, Alvin Faulkenberry. She was a faithful member of the Sugar Valley Church of God, and was retired from O'Jay Mills.

Mrs. Joyce is survived by two brothers, Charles Faulkenberry of Jacksonville, Florida and Kenneth Faulkenberry of Ringgold. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Catherine (Tommie) Joyce will be conducted Sunday at 2:00pm from the Sugar Valley Church of God, with Pastor Dwaine Shadix officiating. Music will be arranged by Rev. and Mrs. Luther Raines and the Sugar Valley Church of God Choir. Mrs. Joyce will lie in state at the church Sunday one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in the Sugar Valley Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday evening, between the hour of 6:00pm and 9:00pm.
