Mary Frances Callaway

Mrs. Mary Frances "Mary Lee" Callaway, age 72 of Dalton, GA died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Gordon County, GA on November 4, 1938, and was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Mrs. Zona Taylor Joyce and Mr. Rembert Daniel Joyce; and her father and step-mother, Mr. James Wilkins Lanier and Mrs. Sally Digger Lanier. She was also preceded in death by a half-brother, Keith Joyce; a half-sister, Virginia Joyce; and a half-brother, James Lamar Lanier.

Mrs. Callaway was a retired Whitfield County School Bus Driver.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Lohnny Bartow Callaway; children, Diane (Danny) McAllister, Frankie Callaway, Dolores McKee, and Carl Callaway, all of Dalton; a sister, Vivian (Wesley) Gann of Acworth GA; a brother, Danny Ray Joyce of Crawford County, GA; and grandchildren, Shawn and Brian McAllister, Darryl Dalton, Mrs. Amanda Watkins, and Miss Kassandra Callaway. Eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. "Mary Lee" Callaway will be held Thursday, October 20th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Brett Yager and Pastor Nolan Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park in Calhoun. Active pallbearers will include Shawn McAllister, Brian McAllister, Darryl Dalton, John Woodall, Gordon Callaway, and Robbie Hammond.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home in Calhoun Wednesday after 4:00pm.
