Mary Lou Hilley

Mrs. Mary Lou Covington Hilley, age 83 of Calhoun, died Friday, July 5, 2013 in Gordon Health Care following several months declining health.

Mrs. Hilley was born in Centre, AL on January 22, 1930, daughter of the late Buford and Lula Mae Dover Covington. She was retired from Mohawk Industries and was a member of Barrett Road Church of God. Preceding her in death was her husband, Earl Hilley in 2003.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Hilley and his wife Elinda of Calhoun; two grandchildren, Consequela Hilley Ramos of Calhoun, and Rebecca Hilley Goss of Calhoun; seven great-grandchildren, Blaize Goss, Mekayla Ramos, Jason Goss, Rylan Goss, Izak Ramos, Eli Ramos and Khloe Goss; three sisters, Ruby Jean McKinney of Richmond, VA, Nallie Covington of Calhoun, and Edith Self of Calhoun; and two brothers, Leon Covington of Calhoun, and Robert Covington of Rome, GA. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lou Covington Hilley will be conducted Monday, July 8th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Norris Sexton and Rev. Jared Raines officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Kevin Phipps, Mark Williamson, Tommy Hibbert, Mark Burchett, Lee Timms, Barry Nichelson, Seth Erwin, and Shane Bagley. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the City of Calhoun.

The Hilley family will receive friends Saturday and Sunday evenings between the hours of 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
