Mary Rebecca "Becky" Mcleod Herrington

Mary Rebecca "Becky" McLeod Herrington, age 73 of Calhoun, GA, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Gordon Health and Rehabilitation in Calhoun, following a few years of declining health.
She was born in Ancon, Panama Canal Zone on September 21, 1943, daughter of the late Frank Jefferson McLeod and Alda Lorraine Madden McLeod. Prior to moving to Gordon County, she and her late husband, Harold, lived in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She spent her young life in the Canal Zone until coming to South Georgia College, Douglas, Georgia, and then attended Grady School of Nursing in Atlanta. She spent most of her life in Marietta, Georgia, before retiring from a long career with Ford Motor Credit Corporation in Atlanta.
Becky was of the Christian faith, and attended Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in Calhoun.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Harold Wallace Herrington, and a brother, William Sumner McLeod of Poulan, Georgia.
Surviving are her two brothers, Colonel Frank Jefferson McLeod, Jr., of Smyrna, Georgia, and Keith Madden McLeod and wife Susan of Roebuck, SC. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Brenda H. Platt of East Point, Georgia; her niece, Kelly Elizabeth McLeod of Moore, SC; her nephew, Keith McLeod, Jr., of Fletcher, NC; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Becky is also survived by her loving friend and caretaker, Glenda Petty, her dear friends, Robin and Kim Harrison, her many loving caretakers and friends at Gordon Health and Rehabilitation, and all the loving and compassionate members and Pastor, Greg Burgner, of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church who loved and served Becky so faithfully.
A Memorial Service for Ms. Becky McLeod Herrington will be Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, Calhoun, Georgia, with Robin Harrison and Pastor Greg Burgner officiating.
The family will receive friends at 1:30 PM, preceding the Memorial Service.
