Mary Stamps

Mrs. Mary Stamps, age 65 of Plainville, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at a local hospital.

Mrs. Stamps was born in Floyd County on December 25, 1944, daughter of the late Clyde E. Reynolds and Ola Mae Carter Reynolds. She was a member of the Lakeview Pentecostal Church in Plainville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne Stamps; two sisters, Annie Mae Gladney and Frances Shaw; and four brothers, Ernest, Lonnie, Tommy and L.C. Reynolds.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Tracey Elkins of Cedartown; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Phillip Maples of Calhoun, Rita and Marlon Hall of Plainville, Marlene and Todd Turner of Cedartown, Tammy and Nolan Dotson of Woodstock, Lisa and Michael Emmitt of Dallas, GA, and Susan Elkins and Antonio Martinez of Calhoun; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Ramona Reynolds of Adairsville; and two sisters, Mattie Lou Wright of Adairsville, and Katherine Lindsey of Armuchee. Nineteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Stamps will be conducted Saturday, March 13th, 2010 at 2:00p.m. from the Lakeview Pentecostal Church, with Rev. Charles Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Scott Cemetery. Mrs. Stamps will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Active pallbearers will be Jason Mount, Barry Mount, Matthew Turner, Derrick Dotson, Brandon Carroll and Billy Shannon Hanes. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Maples, Marlon Hall, Todd Turner, Nolan Dotson and Antonio Martinez. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the church on Saturday at 1:30p.m. The family will begin receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday after 6:00p.m.
