Obituary

Mattie Lou Bunch-Waters, 83, of Calhoun died at home on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, following several months of declining health. Mattie was born in Cartersville on September 2, 1937; she was the daughter of the late Albert and Annie Bell Freeman Roland. Along with her parents, Mattie was preceded in death by her husbands, Lelton Bunch and Richard Waters; her brothers, Harold and Eddie Roland; her sisters, Janell Hall, Patricia Slagle, Barbara Chapman, and Geraldine Tant. Until her retirement, Mattie worked at Gold Kist for many years. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mattie will be fondly remembered by those who knew her as a truly sweet lady who always wore a smile.
Survivors are her children and their spouses, Cathy (Tim) Sharpe, Jerry (Debbie) Bunch, Tony (Cathie) Bunch, Lisa (Johnny) Worley, and Darrell Bunch; her grandchildren, Jody (Chelsea) Fletcher, Kyle (Katie) Sharpe, Taylor (Katie) Sharpe, Harrison Sharpe, Nick Bunch, Jason Bunch, Joe Bunch, Nikki (Eric) Pollex, Selina (Blake) Christopher, Kesha (Wesley) Mauldin, Brian (Brandi) Worley, Eric (Brittany) Worley, Heather (Ronnie) Hubbard, and Quintin (Alexis) Bunch; her sisters, Lillie (Randall) Tant, Jenny (J.D.) Earwood; her brother, Ronnie Roland; her great-grandchildren, Devin Fowler, Collin Fletcher, Makenzie Fletcher, Adler Sharpe, Wesley Sharpe, Evan Sharpe, Grayson Sharpe, Jaiden Bunch, Graci Mae Bunch, Rylee Bunch, Corbin Bunch, Aidan Christopher, KyLeigh Carney, Kobie Carney, Lance Mauldin, Maddie Mauldin, Braxton Richards, Luke Worley, Braylon Worley, Logan Worley, Anna Worley, Beck Worley, Bentley Hubbard, Sawyer Hubbard, Grayson Bunch, John Worley Jr., and Pam Cassell; sisters-in-law, Mamie Jo Roland, Janice Greeson, and Elsie Bunch; brothers-in-law, Harvey Tant and Larry (Janell) Bunch; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends at Heritage Baptist Church on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.
The funeral service will follow the visitation on Saturday, September 26 at 4:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Travis Hyde will officiate. Burial will be a private family service at a later date at East View Cemetery in Adairsville. Matties grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
