Obituary

Maurene Weaver Pass, 90, of Calhoun passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, at AdventHealth Gordon following a period of declining health.
She was born in Gordon County, Georgia on September 15, 1930, the daughter of the late Sala W. Weaver and Mildred Kay Weaver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, J.M. (Pat) Couch in 1975 and her late husband, Kenneth Pass in 2002, sister, Kathy Weaver Henry in 1979, brother-in-law, Oscar Henry in 2019 and her brother, E. Royce Weaver in 2021. She attended Red Bud School and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Laura Couch Payne and her husband Silas of Cartersville, Georgia, and Pam Couch Bell and her husband Kevin of St. Augustine, Florida. Grandchildren, Michael Rice, Mathew (Holly) Rice, Meagan Rice, Hadley Couch, Christi (David) Kleiman, Erin (Chandler) Noble; great-grandchildren, Chloe, and Isaiah Rice, Ryland and Sela Murray, Abbi Kleiman, Therin, and Lancer Noble along with other relatives.
A service to celebrate her life will be conducted Wednesday, July 14th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons with Rev. Ron Bankston and Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Fidelle Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Michael Rice, Mathew Rice, Meagan Rice, Ryland Murray, Hadley Couch, and Isaiah Rice. Honorary pallbearers serving include Tammy Wilson, Lyndsay Kilgore, Cherri Coleman, and Kiyomi Williams.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 14th beginning at 12:00 Noon until the service hour of 2:00 PM.
The family ask that flowers be omitted, and contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or Association for the Blind.
