Max Everett Stewart

Mr. Max Everett Stewart, age 67 of Resaca, passed away Monday, August 3, 2009 at Gordon Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Gordon County on June 10, 1942, son of Inez Williams Stewart and the late Ed Stewart. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Barbara Stewart, and his father-in-law, Martin Greeson.

Mr. Stewart was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as a Project Engineer. He was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Army, and was a member of the Oothcalooga Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Wanda Jean Greeson Stewart; his mother, Mrs. Inez Stewart of Calhoun; a son and daughter-in-law, Neil and DeAnna Stewart of Resaca; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Sally Stewart of Old Fort, Tennessee; and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Tinie Greeson of Resaca. A granddaughter, Brittney Stewart, and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Max Everett Stewart will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmie Timms and Rev. Terry Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardis Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Shane Haun, Mark Stewart, Michael Stewart, Ray Bagley, Marty Cagle, and Billy Hall. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 1:15pm.

The Stewart family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. Online condolences may be expressed and the guestbook signed at www.maxbrannonandsons.com.
