Mrs. Melanie Burchett Melville, 53 of Resaca, GA died Monday, February 27, 2017 at her home. She was born on May 24, 1963, daughter of Deborah "Dinky" Weaver and the late Calvin Melvin Burchett, Sr. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ryan Whitney Melville.
Melanie was employed with Taco Bell as Manager in Calhoun. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
She leaves behind her husband, Dennis John Melville; her mother, Deborah "Dinky" Weaver; her sons, Robert William Melville and Russell Willard Melville, both of Calhoun; her daughter, Raven Melville Dooley of Resaca; a brother, Melvin Burchett, Jr. of Calhoun; a sister, Amanda Burchett Trammell of Calhoun; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Mae Dooley; aunts, Roxie Taylor and Marie Burchett; and an uncle, Douglas Weaver.
Services to honor the life of Mrs. Melanie Burchett Melville will be held Wednesday, March 1st at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving will include Robert Melville, Russell Melville, Keith West, Dillon Burchett, Shaun Trammell, and Bobby Ankney. Honorary pallbearers are Nicholas Dooley, Melvin Burchett, Jr., and Kenyon Trammell.
The Melville family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 28th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Melanies name to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516, or Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, Inc., 7008 Little River Turnpike, P.O. Box 49, Annandale, VA 22003.
