Mrs. Melonese Medlin Rogers age 88 of Chatsworth, GA; formerly of Calhoun died Wednesday evening in Hamilton Medical Center at Dalton.
Mrs. Rogers was born in Pickens County, Georgia on November 11, 1918, daughter of the late Perry and Ola Childers Medlin. Mrs. Rogers lived the greater part of her life in Gordon and Murray Counties. She was a Master Floral Designer before retirement and was a member of the Holly Creek Baptist Church in Chatsworth. Preceding her in death was a son, N.F. Rogers Jr.
Survivors include one son, Richard Rogers and his wife Gloria of Chatsworth, one sister, Nevada Parris of Canton and one brother, Don Medlin of Canton. Five grandchildren. Lynn Rogers, Dana Stover, Brandon Rogers, Shane Rogers and Jason Rogers along with two great grandchildren, Dustin and Jonathan Rogers of Sweetwater, TN. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Melonese Medlin Rogers will be conducted Saturday December 30th at 2:00 PM from Holly Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Cochran and Rev. Doug Meyers officiating. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park in Calhoun. The body will be placed in state at the church from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
