Melven Murphy Pulliam

Melven Murphy Pulliam, 82, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, at AdventHealth Gordon following six months of declining health. He was born in Murray County, Georgia, on September 16, 1941, to the late V.D. and Ora Jane Dean Pulliam. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Vernon Pulliam and Garry Pulliam; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva and JB Gentry, Mildred and Fred Brock, Ellen and Oliver Hensley; sister-in-law, Estalene Pulliam; and brother-in-law, Sonny Buchanan.

Melven was a member of New Town Baptist Church and retired from Shaw Industries.

Melven is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jean Dillard Pulliam; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jennifer Pulliam; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Anthony Quinn; brother, Eugene Pulliam; sisters and brother-in-law, Ann Buchanan, Brenda and Jim Godfrey; sisters-in-law, Shelby Pulliam and Janice Pulliam; grandchildren, Dayln Pulliam, Callie Pulliam, DJ Stephens, Nicole McDaniel, Katie Stephens, Jared Quinn; great-grandchildren, Ava and Jax Pulliam, Cohen and Madilynn Weidner, Rhett McDaniel, Ezra and Mazie Quinn.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 9th, between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 9th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Brandon Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
