Michael Eli Stephenson, 54, of Calhoun, died Thursday, March 11, 2021. He was born on March 2, 1967 in Rome, Georgia to William Eli and Mary Elizabeth White Stephenson.
Mike graduated in 1990 with a engineering degree from Southwestern Oklahoma University. He was a Senior Mechanical Engineer with Omnova for 20 years. He loved woodworking, fishing, and loved to stay at a cabin in the woods. He loved his family, friends, and his dog Jenny.
Mike is survived by his mother, Elizabeth "Ebbie" Stephenson; father, Bill Stephenson (Carolyn); his girlfriend, Dienne Trimble; siblings, Deborah K. Stephenson (Melanie Hill), Pastor Dave Stephenson (Sharon), and Carol Haynie (Tommy); uncle, Robby White; aunt, Betty Stephenson; nieces and nephews, Chris, Michelle, Renee, Josh, and Sarah; cousins, Laura, Lynn, Miranda, and Trevor; several friends and other relatives also survive.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in Summerville City Cemetery in Summerville, Georgia. A reception will follow the graveside service at Horizon Baptist Fellowship, 1216 GA-114, Summerville, Georgia. Pallbearers serving include Chris Wilkey, Mike Chastain, Mike Johnson, Bill Worley, Forrest Campbell, Jeff Baker; Honorary Pallbearers include Mills Leamons, Jim Mealor along with friends and co-workers of Omnova.
