Michael Timothy Land

Michael Timothy Land, 60, of Resaca, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, after a brief illness at Advent Redmond Medical Center in Rome, Georgia. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and nephew.

Born on March 24, 1963, in Calhoun, Georgia, Michael was the son of Faye Land. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Mable McRee; and by his uncles, Vernon McRee, Larry McRee Sr., Kenneth McRee; cousins, Erskin McRee, and Tony McRee.

One of Michael's greatest joys in life was working outside and mowing lawns.

Besides his passion for the outdoors, Michael had a deep affection for sports. He was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.

He is survived by his mother, Faye Land; his brother, Ricky Land; his niece, Heather Johnson and her husband Brandon; his great-nieces, Ellie Johnson, MaKenna Turner, and Shyla Turner; as well as aunts and uncles, Joyce Green, Wanda (Randy) Johns, Patsy (Richard) Phillips; along with other relatives.

A visitation to honor Michael's life will take place on Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home located at 711 College Street in Calhoun, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, starting at 11:00 a.m. at Resaca Assembly of God, 904 Resaca - Lafayette Road in Resaca, Georgia. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Larry Jerome (Spud) McRee, David Bynum, Dominic Copeland, Joseph Reed, Shane Swift, and Bryson Frix. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie McRee, Brandon Johnson, and Jimmy McRee.
