Mr. Michael Lee Adams, 55 of Resaca, GA died Friday, February 27, 2015 at Gordon Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Gordon County on November 21, 1959, son of the late Roy and Faynelle Causby Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great niece, Hannah Black.
Michael was employed with Shaw Industries Plant 34, and was formerly with Calhoun Lumber and Calhoun Wholesale. He was a member of Canaanland Baptist Church.
He leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Brittney Adams of Chatsworth; a daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Brandon Stanley of Resaca; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Rev. Kenneth Blackstock of Calhoun, and Sue and Michael Thomas of Resaca; and a grandson, Ty "Little Man" Stanley. Other survivors include nephews, Jason Johns, Kevin and Deborah Thomas, and Adam and Rebecca Thomas; nieces, Jill and Ellis Bramblett, and Kelly and Stacy Kinsey; and great-nieces and nephews, Alex, Cody, and Brett Johns, Chandler, Cameron, and Carter Thomas, Georgia Lynn Thomas, Hope Thomas, Charity Thomas, Zeke Thomas, and Savannah Kinsey.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Michael Lee Adams will be held Monday, March 2nd at 3:00 PM from Canaanland Baptist Church, with Rev. Kenneth Blackstock, Rev. Isaac Johns, and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Jason Johns, Michael Thomas, Kevin Thomas, Adam Thomas, Ellis Bramblett, and Stacy Kinsey. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Thomas, Lamar Thomas, Phil Holcomb, Wayne Leonard, Raymond Martin, Wayne Long, Perry Johns, Alan Bennett, Doyle Johns, and George Sweeney.
The Adams family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, March 1st from 12:00 noon until 9:00 PM.
