Mrs. Mildred Braden Baker, age 92 of Plainville, Ga, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 after several years of declining health. Mrs. Baker was born in Floyd County, Ga on September 17, 1920, daughter of the late Robert Earnest Braden and the late Josephine Elizabeth Braden. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her husband, James (Bud) Walton Baker; a son, James Howard Baker; a brother, Sidney Braden; two sisters, Lola Mae Turner and Elizabeth Braden. Mrs. Baker was retired from gordon hospital, and a faithful member of College Street Church of God. Mrs. Baker was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great, great-grandmother, and neighbor.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Baker and his wife Jada of Silvercreek, Ga. Claude Baker and his wife Ruby of Calhoun; one sister, Frances Abernathy of Calhoun; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great, great-grandchild, and several neices and nephews also survive.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mildred Braden Baker will be held on Sunday, March 10, at 2:00p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. The family wishes to thank the staff at Oakview Nursing Home in Summerville, and to Betty Nally. Thanks for taking good care of Mrs. Mildred Baker.
