Mildred Johnson

Mrs. Mildred Brannon Johnson, age 77 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, July 18, 2008 at Heartland Hospice Center in Cartersville.

Mrs. Johnson was born on June 20, 1931 in Gordon County, daughter of the late B.L. and Audry Shirley Brannon. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ricky Childers. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Jerry Johnson to whom she was married for 41 years; four sons, Gary Childers and his wife Diane of Jasper, Travis Childers and his wife Judy, Donnie Childers and his wife Tina, Cris Childers and his wife Cleo, all of Calhoun; four sisters, Ruth Griffin, Eunice Balliew and Dimple Childers, all of Fairmount, and Willene Cochran of Woodstock; fourteen grandchildren, Charemon King, Stacey Campbell, Brandi Tach, Von Headrick, Kyle Headrick, Jason Childers, Josh Childers, Donald Childers, Anthony Moore, Jody Childers, Shannon Robbins, Duaron Childers, Timothy Childers and Kerry Leonard. Twenty-two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Brannon Johnson will be conducted Sunday at 2:00pm.from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Singing will be arranged by Mr. Michael Johnson. Grandsons will serve as active and honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow the service at the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. The family will begin receiving friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Saturday evening after 5:00pm.
