Mrs. Winifred Van Every, 83, of Calhoun, GA passed away Thursday November 3, at Gordon Hospital.

Winfred was born on January 30, 1928 in Sandersville, GA, daughter of the late Vera Etheridge and William Berry Archer. She grew up in Avon Park, FL, lived in Smyrna, GA and Clearwater, FL and enjoyed the latest technology, reading, gardening, and also her grand children and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Calhoun Woman's Club and a board member of the Friends of the Calhoun-Gordon County Library.

Winfred was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jack Wilson Foster, and son, John Phillip Foster. She leaves to cherish her memory her second husband of 14 years, David J. Van Every of Calhoun, GA. She is survived by daughters Jane Foster Lee of Topanga, CA and Jennifer Foster Harris of White Rock, NM. She is also survived by two grandchildren: Jack Foster Harris of White Rock, NM and Elizabeth Kennedy Box of Calhoun, GA. She has three great-grandchildren: Erin Kennedy, Thomas Zane and John Patrick Box, all of Calhoun.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 9 from 6 to 8 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home in Calhoun, GA. Memorial services will be held in February 2012 in Avon Park, FL.

The family wishes to perpetuate Winifred's lifelong love of learning by asking that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations are given to the Friends of the Calhoun-Gordon Library to purchase books for the library in Winifred's memory.
