Muril Elizabeth Williams Robbins, age 87, passed from this world on Sunday, September 14, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 6, 1927 in Resaca, Georgia; the daughter of Lyman and Lura Thomas Williams. She lived her entire life in Gordon County, Georgia.
Muril graduated from Resaca High School in 1944. She married her high school sweetheart, George Philip Robbins, on February 20, 1946. They celebrated sixty-six years of marriage. She was the beloved mother of six children.
While many women devoted their life to work, Murils life was devoted to her husband and children. Her home was a gathering place for the neighborhood children. Many games of baseball, basketball, and football were played there, and Kool-Aid and snacks flowed freely!
In her later years, Muril enjoyed a special relationship with her twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who all adored her.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Phil and Susan Robbins, Vaughn and Sandra Robbins, Steve and Diane Robbins, Rick and Terri Robbins, Jill and Lynn Phipps, and Kirk and Valerie Robbins. She also is survived by her twelve grandchildren: Wimberly Comer, Sarah Husser, Rebekah Gilreath, John Robbins, Matt Robbins, Whit Robbins, Nick Robbins, Tyler Robbins, Jacob Robbins, Ryan Morris, Ian Robbins, and Spencer Robbins. Muril has six great-grandchildren: Ella Beth Gilreath, Gormon Comer, Helen and Jack Husser, Brady Robbins, and Ryan Robbins.
