Murray Stephen Johnson Jr

Mr. Murray Stephen Johnson, Jr., age 81 of Ranger, GA died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Gordon Hospital following several months of declining health. He was born in Colquitt County, GA on February 27, 1932, son of the late Murray and Millie Crosby Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Merritt Johnson; a sister and brother-in-law, Maggie and Bo Jones; sisters, Missouri Masey and Clara Jones; a brother, Wayne Johnson; and a sister-in-law, Almita Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was a retired truck driver with Lacey Mills in Fairmount.

He leaves behind his children, Glenn Johnson and his wife Nancy of Lugoff, SC, Faye Fields and her husband Jeff, Joe Johnson and his wife Carol, Howard Johnson, Carrie Christmas and her husband Mike of Calhoun, Stacy Ferro and her husband Bert of Acworth, and Lee Roy Johnson and his wife Marie of Calhoun; a sister, Dora Bragg and her husband Merlin of Albany; brothers, Mark Johnson, Gene Johnson and his wife Mary, Daniel Johnson and his wife Josephine; and a sister-in-law, Karen Johnson, all of Moultrie. Twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Murray Stephen Johnson, Jr. will be held Monday, May 27th at 11:00 am from Haven of Rest Memorial Park, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Active pallbearers are Glenn Johnson, Joe Johnson, Howard Johnson, Lee Roy Johnson, and Mike Christmas.

The Johnson family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
