Ms. Myrtle Ellen Broome, age 57 of Calhoun, died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Floyd Medical Center following several months of illness.
Ms. Broome was born on January 31, 1954 in Whitfield County, daughter of the late Walter Charles Broome and Myrtle Ozella Davis Broome. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Walter Junior Broome, Shirley Faye Broome, Jerry Charles Broome, Donnie Ray Broome and Norma Jean Brookshire. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors are three sisters, Janie Lee Broome of Calhoun, Judy Rogers of Ranger, and Jeannette Kelley and her husband Rodney of Fairmount; a brother, Rickey Broome and his wife Linda of Calhoun; and two sisters-in-law, Tammy Broome of Fairmount, and Eva Broome of Plainville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Ms. Myrtle Ellen Broome will be conducted Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 11:00 am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Tony Angel officiating. Pallbearers serving will include Rodney Kelley, Chad Kelley, Derek Broome, Rickey Broome, Steve Jackson and Brian Rexroad. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
The Broome family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 4:30pm until 9:00pm.
