Myrtle Marie Coggins

Mrs. Myrtle Marie Stephens Coggins, age 83 of Sugar Valley, Ga, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 after several months of declining health. She was born in Bartow County on April 18, 1929, daughter of the late Homer and Ada Young Stephens. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Vester Coggins; a son, Ronnie Coggins; a daughter, Elaine Coggins; Brothers, Earl Stephens and Myrl Stephens; five sisters, Dot Nix, Sally Bell Smith, Katie Gramlin, Ella Mae White, and Evelyn Johnston. Mrs. Coggins was a homemaker and a faithful member of Haven of Rest Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Danny Coggins and his wife, Patsy of Calhoun; Grandchildren, Lisa and Wayne Muse, Jennifer and Jeff Cooper, Melissa and Chad Hefner, Julie and Jason Burnett. Great-grandchildren, Landon and Mikayla Muse, Cody Adams and Brittney Cooper, Zackary Edwards and Lane Hefner, Chad Hefner ,Jr, Luke Hefner, Drew Hefner, Bryce Hefner, Ashlee Burnett, and Jason Burnett, Jr.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Myrtle Marie Stephens Coggins will be held Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2:00p.m. at the Haven of Rest Baptist Church in the Scottsville Community with Rev. Jason Fuller and Rev. Bud Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in the Blackwood Springs Cemetery with Rev. Maynard Thomas conducting the gravesite services. Active Pallbearers serving include Austin Revels, Johnny Dutton, Randy Muse, Jeff Patterson, Donnie White, and Donnie Mattila. Honorary pallbearers serving include Gene Holmes, Russell Whitfield, Jesse Smith, John Myers, and Jeremey Smith.

The family will receive friends at the Haven of Rest Baptist Church in the Scottsville Community on Thursday after 2:00 pm, and until the funeral hour on Friday at 2:00 pm.
