Nan Pettit Taylor

Mrs. Barbara Nan Pettit Taylor, age 72 of Calhoun, died Friday, April 4, 2014 at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Gordon County on November 15, 1941, daughter of the late Charlie and Bertha Haney Pettit. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Olan Pettit, Trammell "Hambone" Pettit, Rusty Pettit and Jimmy Pettit.

Mrs. Taylor was a lifelong resident of Gordon County, and a graduate of Calhoun High School.

She leaves behind a son, Vic Stevens of Calhoun; and four sisters, Evelyn Gaines, Catherine Mashburn, Sue Kirk and Faye Abbott, all of Calhoun. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Barbara Nan Pettit Taylor will be held Tuesday, April 8th at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Harold Blackstock officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Dwight Holbert and Brad Henderson.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday between the hours of 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
