Naomi Louise Sexton

Mrs. Naomi Louise Tucker Sexton, age 69 of Calhoun, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Floyd Medical Center following three months of illness.

Mrs. Sexton was born on October 26, 1939 in Frostproof, Florida, daughter of the late Arthur and Ina Tucker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Tucker. During her lifetime she was employed for Ag-Farm Credit as a Loan Officer, and was a member of Erwin Hill Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Julius Morris Sexton, to whom she was married for 44 years; a daughter, Michele Pierce and her husband Tommy of Calhoun; a son, Jonathan Sexton of Crestview, Florida; a sister, Patricia Shope and her husband, Rev. James Shope of Calhoun; three brothers, Herald Tucker and his wife Jen, Bernard Tucker and his wife Sheron, all of Winter Haven, Florida, and Richard Tucker of Cary, North Carolina. Ten grandchildren, Brandy Pierce, Brian Pierce, Audrey Pierce, Caleb Pierce, Annah Pierce, Joshua Pierce, Tesse Pierce, Sarah Sexton, Gabe Sexton and Emily Sexton; a great grandchild, Ava Best; a very special aunt, Vesta Harris of Lakeland, Florida, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Naomi Louise Tucker Sexton will be conducted Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 3:00pm from the Calhoun Community Church, with Rev. James Shope and Rev. Michael Hunt officiating. Mrs. Sexton will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service. Active pallbearers serving will include Kelly Shope, Jamie Shope, Caleb Pierce, Luke Harkins, Darren Sexton and Alex Lawhon. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Sunday at 1:00pm. Honorary pallbearers will include Brian Pierce, Harold Tucker, Bernard Tucker, Richard Tucker, Jesse Harkins, Lamar Hand, Clay Stephens, Claude Allen, Charlie Allen, Clyde Allen, and Max Sexton. Theses gentlemen are request to meet at the Calhoun Community Church Sunday at 2:45pm. Interment will follow the service in the Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday, during the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
