Ned Daniel Vandyke

Mr. Ned Daniel VanDyke, age 77 of Calhoun, passed away on March 2, 2013. He was born on November 28, 1935 in Gastonia, NC, son of the late Will and Nancy Barton VanDyke. He is preceded in death by two brothers Robert Bell, and Billy Bell.

Mr. VanDyke was a retired truck driver, and served in the United States Army for over ten years.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Ann Riley VanDyke, to whom he was married for 39 years; three sons, Kenny Manis and his wife Stephanie of Murray County, Wayne Manis and his wife Debbie of Calhoun, and Steven Manis of Calhoun; four daughters, Maria Goble and her husband Lamar of Murray County; Loretta Walker and her husband Rodney of Dalton, Shelia VanDyke of Cartersville, and Shirley VanDyke of Cartersville; and four sisters, Barbara Bevins and her husband Jess of Dalton, Dorthy Cobb and her husband Bud of Lafeyette, Louise Grain of Dalton, and Clara Sue Blankenship of Kentucky. Twenty-three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, neices, and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Ned Daniel VanDyke will be held Monday, March 4, 2013 at 2:00p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane Eater Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers serving will include Jay Patton, Preston Timms, Lamar Goble, and Rodney Walker.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m.
