Mrs. Nell Rich Ables, 91 of Calhoun, died Friday, February 20, 2015 at Gordon Heath Care Center.
Mrs. Ables was born on October 11, 1923 in Gordon County, Georgia, daughter of the late Tate W. and Bessie Lee Hopkins Rich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Quinton M. Ables; a sister, Sara Rich Goble; and brothers, I.W. Rich and W.A. Rich.
During her lifetime, she worked in and retired from the textile industry. She was a member of Oostanaula Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ables is survived by two daughters, Sylvia AblesTaylor and Sara Ables King, both of Calhoun; a son, Buddy Ables and his wife Willie of Ocoee, Tennessee; grandchildren, Cameron Taylor and his spouse Tracey, Courtney Taylor and his wife Wendy, John King and his wife Kim, and Chris Jackson and his wife Telena; great grandchildren, Carley Taylor, Cassie McDaniel, Logan McDaniel, Blake Jackson, Cody Jackson, Raeren Jackson, Katie King and Kristen King; and a great-great grandchild, Emma Jackson.
Services to celebrate the life of Nell Rich Ables will be held Monday, February 23rd at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Lamar Bearden and Bro. Lamar Hand officiating. Interment will follow in West Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Cameron Taylor, Courtney Taylor, Chris Jackson, John King, Doug Hite and Mark Bramblett. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Shivers, Blake Jackson, Cody Jackson, Logan McDaniel, Ken Trammell, Stacy Koonce, Tim Woodard and Derek Harp.
The Ables family will receive friends Sunday, February 22nd between the hours of 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
