Nellie Ethel Cudd

Mrs. Nellie Ethel Cudd, age 62 of Calhoun, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Gordon Hospital.

Mrs. Cudd was born October 2, 1945, daughter of the late Walter L. Bryant and Florence Sanford Stanley. She was the owner and operator of Oostanaula Grocery for several years, and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one son, Brock Cudd; one sister, Dimple Poppins; and by three brothers, German Stanley, Shorty Stanley, and Red Stanley.

Survivors include her husband, James L. Cudd of Calhoun; one son, Bruce Cudd of Calhoun; three daughters, Pam Saucedo and her husband Miguel, Liz Richards and her husband Johnny, all of Calhoun, and Cheryl Gilmore and her husband Eddie, of Ellijay. Two sisters, Florence Howard and Ruth Bryant, both of Calhoun; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Nellie Ethel Cudd will be conducted Sunday, March 30, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain cemetery with Rev. Max Fuller conducting the graveside rites. Active pallbearers serving include Mitch Worley, Bryan Grogan, Tony Miller, Jerry Walraven, Grady Lingerfelt, and Steve Cornwell. Honorary pallbearers include Lynn Fortenberry, Dale Bohannon, Doug Bryant, Steven Howard, Jeff Howard, Danny Thomas and Aleck Sewell. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
