Nellie E. Gentry

Nellie E. Gentry, 89, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024. She was born on July 6, 1935, to the late Earnest and Lela Payne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Oscar Payne, Paul Payne, and James Payne; and sisters, Kathleen Coggins, Barbara Payne, Ruby Payne, and Edna Pack.

Nellie is survived by her sons, Gary Gentry, Robin Gentry, Ricky Gentry, and Jimmy Gentry; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and M.L. Silvers; grandchildren, Bridget Young (Brian), Kristie Davis (Michael), Matthew Gentry (Jennifer), Beka Martin (Bradley), Blake Gentry (Brittany), Brandon Gentry, Chris Gentry, Yvette Pullen (Dale), Jake Whitlock (Meghan), and Kelsi Whitlock; great-grandchildren, Hannah Parrot, Hope Young, Brooklyn Gentry, Berkley Gentry, Azaylee Lingerfelt, Trent Gentry, Audrey Gentry, Elijah Gentry, Aurora Gentry,  Austin Thomas, Addison Thomas, Aiden Pike, Jake Whitlock, Kelsie Whitlock, Lydia Whitlock, Harper Whitlock, and Atticus Whitlock; a special cousin, Joann Dodd; and her roommate, Patricia Fuller. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. 

The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in Haven of Rest Memorial Park.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Gordon Healthcare for their faithful care of their mother.
