Obituary

Nellie Mae McKinnon, 83 of Resaca, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021. She was born in Floyd County on July 19, 1938, to the late George and Gladys Quick Quinn. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grand-daughter Charity Fisher Forsyth and grand-daughter-in-law Valerie Fisher.
Nellie retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a nurse at the Floyd County Health Department. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and loved to be outside.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, James McKinnon; daughters Debbie Rittenhouse, Vickie Smith (David), and Kim Tripp (Sam); son Chuck DeParlier (Beth); brother David Quinn (Brenda); sisters Linda Camp and Ann Folds. She is also survived by Debbie's children, Jason, Jamie (Stacey), and Jeremy; Vickie's children, Christy, Misty, Amanda, Melinda, Stephanie, and Matthew; Chuck's children, Chase and Noah. Several great-grandchildren also survive.
To honor Nellie's wishes, her body was cremated and a private service will be held at a later time.
