Obituary
Mr. Nevin Larkin Weaver, 61, of Calhoun passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Wednesday, January 27th at the Lantern of Morning Pointe Assisted Living.
Nevin was born in Gordon County, Georgia on December 3, 1959, son of the late Larkin and Clara Bess Moss Weaver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Weaver, nephew, Caleb Weaver and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lile and Jeanelle Dean. He had lived in the Red Bud Community his entire life, was a 1978 graduate of Red Bud High School where he excelled in Basket Ball. Nevin loved to sing and was the Bass singer for Turning Point Quartet, he played multiple musical instruments and served his Lord with his God given talent. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Sugar Valley Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him the best and loved him the most.
Survivors include his wife, Joann Dean Weaver to whom he was married 35 years, daughter, Megan Weaver Gravitte and her husband Charlie; son, Garrett Weaver and his wife Lauren; three brothers, Gregory (Sheri) Weaver, Wayne (Kitty) Weaver, Barry Weaver and a sister-in law, Nancy Walraven Weaver. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
A gathering to Celebrate the life of Nevin Larkin Weaver will be Saturday at 4:00 PM at the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Fellowship Center with Larry Knight and Pastor Mitch Phillips speaking.
The family asked that flowers be omitted and contributions be made in Nevins honor to the Alzheimers Association of Dalton, 922 E. Morris Street, Dalton, Georgia 30721.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, masks are required and social distancing guidelines are to be observed for those in attendance.
