Nola Hensley Buttram

Mrs. Nola Hensley Buttram, age 93 of Fairmount, GA died Friday, December 13, 2013 at Gordon Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on January 3, 1920, daughter of the late Joe and Claudia Stanley Hensley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Buttram; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy J. and Pat Hensley; four brothers, Clayton Hensley, Luke Hensley, Mark Hensley, and Lewis Hensley; and two sisters, Ossie Rogers and Dora Gentry.

Mrs. Buttram was an avid fisherman and was known for her prize catches. She was a seamstress and had been employed with JJ Grizzlys Sporting Goods. She was a member of the Calhoun Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Hyde of Calhoun; a brother, Oliver Hensley of Rome; a sister, Lela Mae Weaver and her husband Sala of Calhoun; grandchildren, Kathy Hodge, Jimmy Cox, and Michael Cox, Terry Hensley and Charlene Kidd all of Calhoun, Debbie Luffman of Subligna, and Tim Griffin; and great-grandchildren, Ricky Luffman, Becky Robinson, Shane Cox, Matthew Adams, April Cox, Jacklyn Cox, Jimmy Lee Cox. Several great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nola Hensley Buttram will be held Sunday, December 15th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The Buttram family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
