Mr. Norman Lee Stephens, age 80 of Calhoun, died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness, Mr. Stephens was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on February 10th, 1930, son of the late William and Zada Crabtree Jones Stephens. He and his wife had resided in Calhoun for the past four years, moving here from Memphis, TN. Mr. Stephens was a veteran of the United States Army, and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a Seventh Day Adventist.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Stephens, to whom he was married for 51 years; two daughters, Judie Plumley and her husband Keith of Dalton, and Thelma Vigneron and her husband George of Moore, OK; two sons, Chris Tucker and his wife Mary of Hermitage, TN, and Wes Tucker of Murphy, NC. Ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild, along with a niece, nephew, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Norman Lee Stephens will be held Monday, December 20th, at 2:00PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with interment to follow in Chandler Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers serving include Brian and Devin Tucker, Joseph Liles, Micah Armantroup, Victor Zill, Rudy Dittman and Jonathan Moten.
The Stephens family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.
