Norman York

Mr. Norman York, age 68 of Rock Creek Road, Calhoun died Friday May 18, 2007 at his residence following a brief illness.

Mr. York was born in Gordon County on September 17th. 1938. His parents were the late William "Pappy" York and Susie Rosalee Stephens York. Mr. York was self employed as a carpenter and was preceded in death by a daughter, Terea York and by a brother, Sammie Jo York.

Survivors include four sons; Heath York, Marcus York, Tony "Windy" West and Mitchell West all of Calhoun; two daughters; Stephanie Holbrook of Spartanburg, SC and Tonya Quinn of Calhoun; his companion; Johnnie Johns of Calhoun; and eleven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild along with other relatives survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Norman York will be held Sunday May 20th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler cemetery with Rev. Gary Quarles in charge of the graveside rites.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening after 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
