Olie Johns

Mr. Olie Johns, age 96 of Resaca, died Friday, December 16, 2011 at Calhoun Health Care. He was born in Gordon County on October 29, 1915, son of the late Wesley and Rosie Long Johns. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, B.W. Johns, Ralph Johns, and Jimmy Johns; and an infant son and infant daughter.

Mr. Johns was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army during WWII. He was retired from Regent Mills.

Survivors include is wife of 70 years, Janett Petty Johns; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Barbara Johns, and Wayne and Bernice Johns, all of Nicholsville; a daughter, Elizabeth Wilson of Nicholsville; and grandchildren, Jennifer Hogue, Jaime Barb, Jason Johns, Jill Bramblett, and Kelly Kinsey. Seven great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Olie Johns will be held Sunday, December 18th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. A.J. Waters and Rev. Jimmie Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the Fidelle Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Larry Petty, Otis Petty, Randy Johns, Billy Johns, Jimmy Johns, Luke Shipman, Edward Shipman, and Ronald Johns.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
