Ollie Mae Shope

Mrs. Ollie Mae Shope, age 90, of Adairsville, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Maple Ridge Health Care Center in Cartersville. She was born in Gordon County on December 5, 1916, daughter of the late W.C. and Susan Hollingsworth Hice. Mrs. Shope was preceded in death by her husband, Millard S. Shope in 2001, brothers; Grady Hice, J.C. Hice, Henry Hice, and Laurens Hice; sisters; Emmie Earwood, Effie McDaniel, Lucille Andrews, and Ester Hice. She was a member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law; Frances and Boyce Ray III of Rome; and two grandchildren; Stephanie Megan Ray and Jonathan David Ray.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie Shope will be conducted Tuesday, January 2, from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday between the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00pm.
