Mr. Ollie "Paul" Cronon, age 72 of Rome, GA died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Etowah Landing in Rome after an extended period of declining health.
Mr. Cronon was born in Bartow County, GA on December 18th, 1939, son of the late Roy Lee Cronon Sr. and Beulah McCollum Cronon. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Dimple Walker and Gladys Cronon. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the Cartersville Country Club in the golf course maintenance department. He was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church in Acworth, GA.
Survivors include his wife, Lola May Bennett Cronon; three daughters, Patricia Guyton of Cartersville, GA, Sarah Messex of Armuchee, GA, and Judy Jennings of Lindale, GA; two sisters, Emma Jo Clayton of Calhoun and Betty Roland of Wichita, FL; and a brother, Roy Lee Cronon Jr. of Wintergreen, FL. Seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Ollie "Paul" Cronon will be conducted Tuesday, January 24th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Earl Partain officiating. Interment will follow in the Campbell Cemetery. Music will be arranged by Heartfelt. Pallbearers serving include, David Messex, Justin Jennings, Dustin Messex, Ricky Tucker, Randy Tucker and William Roland.
The Cronon family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Monday, January 23, between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
