Otence Rogers Dinsmore

Mrs. Otence Rogers Dinsmore, age 84 of Sugar Valley, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Gordon Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Murray County on October 12, 1923, daughter of the late Isaac and Lula Fox Couch. Mrs. Dinsmore was retired from the textile industry, and was a member of the Sugar Valley Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Luke Rogers; a daughter, Janice Rogers, and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband of eleven years, Grover L. Dinsmore; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Nancy Rogers of Bentonville, Arkansas; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and R.F. Bennett of Sugar Valley; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice and Bill Smith of Dalton, and Vera and Donald Miller of Rio Vista, California. Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Otence Rogers Dinsmore will be conducted Wednesday, September 10 at 2:00pm from the Sugar Valley Church of God with Rev. Dwaine Shadix and Rev. Mitch Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Rogers Family cemetery at Sugar Valley. Active pallbearers will include Jim Roberts, Jack McGaskey, Kevin Holsomback, Jerry Holsomback, Lamar Moorehead, and Jeremy Moorehead. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 1:00pm. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cream of the Crop Senior Citizens of Sugar Valley Baptist Church, and members of the Happy Hearts Senior Citizens of Sugar Valley Church of God. They are requested to meet at the Sugar Valley Church of God Wednesday at 1:45pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday between the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
