Mr. Pat H. Goble, age 90, formerly of Gordon County died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Avalon Hospice in Flint, Michigan.
Pat was born in the rural community of Gordon County, Georgia on August 31, 1918, the son of Minnie Goble. On November 20, 1936 he married Robbie Lee Moss, who preceded him in death on July 17, 2007. They had been married for 70 plus years. Four children were born to this marriage. Two preceded him in death, Larry Francis, age 16 in 1962 and Brenda Ann, age 19 in 1963. Also preceding him in death was his mother Minnie Goble, and brother Buster Goble.
He retired from General Motors Metal Fabricating Plant in 1980. He was a member of the Flint Baptist Temple. He was a Life Member of the Masonic Order of Fairmount, Ga. He was a World War II Wartime Veteran.
Surviving are two sons, William Pat and wife Linda Goble of Grand Blanc, MI and James Randall and wife Patricia Goble of Swartz Creek, MI; seven grandchildren, Tracy and John of California, Tony and Lisa Goble of Kentucky, Tony is currently serving in Iraq, Trisha and Brad Isham of Davison, MI, Deborah and Don Lougheed of Swartz Creek, MI, Roger and Susan Goble of Brighton, MI, Ron and Lisa Goble of Plymouth, MI and Rodney and Amy Goble of Pinckney. Seventeen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Pat H. Goble will be Friday, March 13th, at 11:00AM from the Philadelphia Baptist Church, with Rev. James Cobb, Rev. Tim McCulley and Rev. Jack Cole officiating. Music will be conducted by Jack and Virginia Stone. Burial will follow in the Campbell Cemetery at Pleasant Hill with military honors. Pallbearers serving will include Terry Goble of Calhoun, Jerry Goble of Dalton, Terry Goble of Dalton, Gary Goble of Calhoun, Randall Goble of Swartz Creek, MI and Pat Goble Jr. of Grand Blanc, MI. Honorary pallbearers will include Willard Goble of Calhoun, Mary Nell Goble Campbell of Warner Robbins, GA and Betty Goble Alexander of Cummings, GA. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, March 12th, from 2:00pm until 9:00PM.
