Mrs. Patricia Anne Knox, age 66 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010 at her residence, surrounded by family and friends following eleven months of illness.

Mrs. Knox was born on November 20, 1943 in Atlanta, daughter of the late Curtis and Katherine McCurry. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie McCurry. She was a member of Haygood United Methodist Church, where she was Director of Day Care for several years.

Mrs. Knox is survived by her husband, James Loyal Knox, to whom she was married for 50 years; daughters, Karen Knox Skinner and her husband David Ray Skinner of Snellville, and Sherri Knox and Kortney Dempsey of Canton; a son, James Nathan Knox and his wife Kellie Dempsey Knox of Ball Ground; a brother, Michael McCurry and his wife Anna of McDonough; and grandchildren, Clayton Staub, Rachel Skinner, Nolan Knox, James Skinner, Samuel Stripland, and Emma Grace Stripland. An aunt and uncle, Gwen Peek and Leonard Scott; cousins, Penny Johnson and Cathy Sanderson; and nephews and nieces, Christie McCurry, Michelle McCurry, Keith McCurry, Todd McCurry, Chris McCurry, Brian McCurry, Robbie Kercheval, and Patrick Kercheval also survive.

Memorial services for Mrs. Patricia Knox will be conducted Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at 7:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Woody Spackman officiating. Music will be arranged by Jan Marthaler and Zip Holland. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 5:00pm until the service time.
