Paul Edward Gentry

Paul Edward Gentry Sr., 89 of Calhoun, died Thursday, October 19, 2017. He was born in Gilmer County on March 9, 1928, son of the late James Cornelius Gentry and Mildred Melissa Goble Gentry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 2013, Allawane Gentry; a daughter, Ann Gentry Walters; a grandchild, Erik McNeese; brothers, Cecil Gentry, J.R. Gentry, James Gentry, C.C. Gentry, and Robert Gentry;and sisters, Gladys Gentry, Vera Burrell, Ora Dell Dobson, Clara Ferguson, and Bessie Whitley.
Paul was a member of Blackwood Baptist Church. He loved gardening, cooking, and family time.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Gentry Dodd and her husband C.J.; sons, Paul Gentry Jr. and his wife Leah and Mitchell Gentry; grandchildren, Melissa Teague and her husband Gary, Brittany McAllister and her husband Mathew, Brandon Gentry, Makenzie Gentry, and Sabrina Tongren and her husband Peter; step-grandchildren, Jeff Dodd and his wife Angie, and Creswell Dodd and his wife Sharon; great-grandchildren, Caiti Adcock, Michael and Matthew Adcock, Nick McAllister, Jade McNeese,, Dani Everett, and Jett Tongren; step-great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Dodd, Avery Dodd, Madison Erwin, Kaitee Queen, and Sydney Dodd; and a great-great-grandson, Leo Smith.
The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, October 22nd at 4:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Eddie Brannon and Robert Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at Fain Cemetery.
The Gentry family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 21st from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
