Paul Kenneth Walker

Mr. Paul Kenneth Walker, age 80 of Calhoun, Georgia, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Walker was born on August 17, 1930 in Floyd County, Georgia, son of the late Herman and Myrtle Stewart Walker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, H.M. Walker and his wife, Edna, and a brother-in-law, Eugene Shropshire. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1951 until 1953. His career was in carpet yarn for many years in Georgia, California, and Saudi Arabia. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Walker is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Eva "Neil" Allen Walker; two sons, Kenny Walker and his wife Jamie of Athens, Georgia, and Clint Walker and his wife Sherry of Calhoun; a grandson, Britt Walker of Atlanta; a granddaughter, Katie Walker of Royston, Georgia; two sisters, Gaynell Wood of Rome, Georgia and Jean Shropshire of Dallas, Texas; a brother-in-law, Nathan Allen and his wife Ruth of Texas; and his extended family, John, Marilyn, Courtney, and John, Jr. Pettitt of San Diego, California. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Paul Kenneth Walker will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00pm from the Trinity Baptist Church, with Dr. Charlie Bridges and Rev. Hugh Hagan officiating. Active pallbearers serving will include Gregg Shropshire, Gary Shropshire, Glenn Shropshire, Donnie Roberson, Jim Malone and Kane Berryman. These gentlemen are requested to meet at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow the service in the West Hill Cemetery at Dalton, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mr. Walker's name to the Rocky Sunday School Class of the Trinity Baptist Church, 1170 Rome Road, Calhoun, Georgia 30701.

The Walker family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday June 21st between the hours of 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
