Mr. James Paul Manning, 65 of Calhoun, died Friday, September 9, 2016 at his home. He was born in Knoxville, TN on February 7, 1951, son of the late Rev. David Julian and Jimmie Nell Pratt Manning.

Paul was a 1969 graduate of Red Bud High School, and was a veteran, serving his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era. He had been employed with The Dixie Group for 42 years, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He leaves behind his wife, Donna Pass Parker; his daughter, Lindsey Holt of Calhoun; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Meredith Manning of Plano, TX; his sisters and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Randall Fox of Woodstock, and Gina Manning of Tennessee; and his grandchildren, McKenzee Holt, Emma Holt, and Adyson Holt.

Services to honor the life of Mr. James Paul Manning will be held Monday, September 12th at 4:00 PM from Trinity Baptist Church, with Rev. Jerry Adair, Rev. Eddie Brannon, and Rev. Brian Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with Military Honors, with Rev. Jether Cochran conducting the committal service. Pallbearers will include Julian Fox, Jason Carney, Johnny White, Terry Weldon, Greg Bennett, Timmy Erwin, Calvin Lee, and Bud Owens. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Clark, Donny White, and employees of The Dixie Group.

The Manning family will receive friends at Trinity Baptist Church, 1170 Rome Road SW, Calhoun, on Sunday, September 11th, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

The family requests flowers be omitted, and a memorial contribution made to your favorite organization.

Condolences may be left at www.maxbrannonandsons.com. Funeral services for Mr. James Paul Manning are under the care and direction of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun.
