Paul Taylor Mealer

Paul Taylor Mealer, 86, of Adairsville, GA died Monday, March 2, 2015. He was born in Alcoa, TN on November 9, 1928, son of the late Homer Mealer and Ruth Belcher Mealer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Mealer, Harold Mealer, and James Mealer.

Before retirement, he was employed by the Floyd County Board of Education for sixteen years at Model School in the maintenance department. He was also a former deacon of Curryville Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dora Dean Stewart Mealer; a son, Gary Mealer; a daughter, Joan Viet and her husband Ken; three sisters, Joyce Nicholson of Adairsville, Wanda Hibberts of Calhoun, and Betty Dilbeck of Adairsville; grandchildren, Paul Shawn Viet and his wife Tammy, Kenneth Christopher (K.C) Viet and his wife Dayna; great-grandchildren, Kayla Viet, Lee Callaway and his wife Mary Beth, Cody Callaway, Laina Viet, Hailey Tarte, and Joseph Tarte; great-great-grandchildren, Madison Callaway, Braden Callaway, Cole Callaway. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Paul Taylor Mealer will be held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hibberts and Rev. Jason Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Bruce Mealer, Bobby Mealer, Danny Mealer, Donnie Mealer, Mike Mealer, Barry Nicholson, and Matthew Hibberts.

The family will receive friends after 5:00 PM at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 4th.
