Pauline Greeson Wood

Mrs. Pauline Greeson Wood, age 87 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Gordon Health Care following several months of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on December 2, 1925, daughter of the late Ernest Clinton Greeson and the late Tennie Bell Baxter Greeson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, B.W. Wood; a sister, Nancy Jane Greeson; and brothers, Vernon Greeson, Virgil Greeson, Troy Greeson, and Herbert Greeson.

Mrs. Wood was retired from Wellco Carpets, and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

She leaves behind a son and his companion, Gary Wood and Marsha Leonard of Calhoun; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Lamar Babb of Sercy, Arkansas, and Vickie and Don Hughes of Hiram, GA; a brother, Mickey Greeson of Calhoun; grandchildren, Teena and Keith Barnette of Judsonia, AR, Chad and Jessica Wood of Calhoun, Jamie and Jake Sullins of Cartersville, Eric Hughes and his companion Sarah Dowell of Powder Springs, and Emily Hughes of Fort Lauderdale, FL; great-grandchildren, Hailey Sullins, Chase Wood, Grace Wood, Josh Barnette, Haley Dowell, and Gabby Dowell; and great-great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Barnette and Joshua Lee Barnette.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Pauline Greeson Wood will be held Thursday, August 8th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Keith Barnette, Josh Barnette, Eric Hughes, Chad Wood, Jake Sullins, and Gary Wood. Honorary pallbearers are Melvin Greeson, Lamar Babb, Don Hughes, Tom Leveritt, Herschel Sexton, Earl Farris, Sue Smith, Shelba Sexton, Patsy Gravitt, and Carol Parker.

The Wood family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
