Pearl Silvers

March 20, 1926 — May 15, 2010

Mrs. Pearl Silvers, age 84 of Ranger, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010 at her residence following a long term illness. She was born in Lumpkin County on March 20, 1926, daughter of the late Earl and Ola Underwood Sanford. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Homer Silvers, in December 2009; a brother, Tommy Sanford; a sister, Willie Dean Brooks; and a grandchild, Timothy David Silvers.

Mrs. Silvers was retired from Mannington Carpets, and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Ranger.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Glenda Silvers of Calhoun; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Philip Oliver, and Linda and Barney Harrill, all of Ranger; a sister, Annivee Townsend of Adairsville; two grandchildren, Tammy Oliver and Kim Casey, and a great-grandchild, Kristen Casey. A special sister-in-law, Martha Silvers, a special niece, Glenda Pilcher, and other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Silvers will be conducted Tuesday at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Frank Cronan and Rev. Terry Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park, with Rev. Bobby Causby conducting the committal service. Active pallbearers will include Eddie Pack, George Pilcher, Jerry Townsend, Anthony Oliver, Ray Silvers, Dale Silvers, and Kenny Brooks. George Southgate will serve as honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday from 4:00pm until 9:00pm.
