Mr. Pearley Chastain Jr, 79, of Plainville, GA died Sunday, October 4, 2020, in AdventHealth-Gordon.
Mr. Chastain was born in Murphy, North Carolina on February 15, 1941, son of the late Pearley Chastain Sr and Mable Forster Chastain. Pearley was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Duryberry in 1997.
He was a Christian that loved his family and cherished his friends. He never met a stranger. He was a veteran of the United States Army and prior to his retirement, he was employed by Knights Chevron
Survivors include his daughters; Laurie (Brian) Logsdon of Kentucky and Karen (Don) Winfield of Lafayette; son, Keith Chastain of Plainville, twelve grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Margaret Drake along with several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The Funeral service for Mr. Chastain will be conducted at the graveside, Thursday, October 8, 2020, at 2:00 PM in Snow Hill Baptist Church near Murphy, North Carolina with Rev. David Nix and Eddie Brannon officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at the funeral home between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 PM.
