Obituary

Peggy J. Gay Sheriff, 80, of Calhoun, Georgia died on Friday, May 29, 2020 at her home, following several years of declining health. She was born on December 11, 1939 in Maplesville, Alabama to the late Howard James and Annie Odessa Johnson Gay. She was preceeded in death by her brothers, Donald and Phillip Gay; her sister, Earline Gregg; sister-in-law, Faye Gay.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws, Donna and Tim Hightower, Sandra and Jerry McCarter; her sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Earl Griffin; her brother-in-law, Billy Gregg; her longtime companion, Bob Pack; her grandchildren, Holly and Brian Vandagriff; her great grandchildren, Emma Vandagriff; several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
To honor Peggy's wishes, her body was cremated. The family will gather to celebrate her life at a later date.
Peggy's family requests that instead flowers, memorials be made to The American Cancer Society, cancer.org/donate.
